This documentary chronicles the life, music, and times of maverick singer-songwriter Janis Ian, beginning with her teen years as a precocious member of the vibrant Greenwich Village folk scene before ascending to international stardom in the mid-70s and cementing her place as a voice for outsiders everywhere.

Members of Temple Ner Tamid in Bloomfield, who volunteer time and resources to support detainees at Delaney Hall and their families, will share their first-hand knowledge of life inside the detention center and talk about the on-the-ground experiences they have had working at the Family Tent outside of Delaney Hall.

"The Lion Women of Tehran" is a sweeping exploration of how profoundly we are shaped by those we meet when we are young, and the way love and courage transform our lives.
