Israel Democracy — World Zionist Congress Election

WORLD ZIONIST CONGRESS 2025

Temple Beth-El’s  World Zionist Congress campaign team is putting its energy into action and working for Israel’s safe, secure, and democratic future.

The World Zionist Congress is the Jewish people’s democratically elected international body that convenes every five years. It is a way for Diaspora Jews like us to have a voice in Israel and stand up for pluralism, equality, security, and a path to peace. The 2025 WZC elections will take place March 10 – May 4. Our congregation is building our election team – and we need your help! Please join us! For more information, please contact Beth Lavranchuk at WZOelections@templebethelnj.org.

Our campaign will help ensure that Israel reflects our Reform Jewish values and remains a place where our children and grandchildren will always be safe and welcome. The Reform Jewish representatives in the WZC help promote our values.

WHAT’S AT STAKE? Our opponents in the WZC election envision Israel’s future as one that chips away at Israel’s democracy and will roll back gains for gender equity, LGBTQ+ rights, and religious pluralism. They also want to strip our Israeli Reform clergy – especially our female rabbis – and our Reform communities of their rights, funding, and infrastructure.
