Music at TBE

Music used for our worship services comes from many sources and geographic regions. Jews have inhabited and become acculturated into countries around the world, absorbed local music and incorporated it into the music of prayer. We also have composers of all denominations who continuously create new melodies to fit the needs of the contemporary Jews. Sources may include summer camps, Israeli Jewish sources, rabbis and cantors who write music, singer-songwriters, classical European Jewish composers like Solomon Sulzer and Louis Lewandowski, and more. Some composers are well-known, others are up and coming.

If you have arrived at TBE Shabbat services and wondered about how you can learn  a new melody for Lecha Dodi or Mi Chamocha, have no fear. Recordings are here! This page is for you to use for your own musical learning, at your own pace. Listen when you’d like to preview what might be coming up on a given Shabbat or holiday,  just for fun and relaxation, or as a fond memory of a past worship experience.

New recordings will be added periodically as they are introduced by our clergy team.
