The holiday of Sukkot begins on October 2.
We’re gathering to build our sukkah on Sunday, September 27 (weather permitting; rain date Friday, October 2).
Even though we can’t gather in the sukkah as a community, we’re building the sukkah and making it available to families to reserve. (More)
Adults and children alike are welcome to help build the sukkah. No experience necessary — you don’t even have to know how to work power tools which makes this great for kids! This will take you back to your childhood days of Lincoln Logs (except on a bigger scale!). This has always been a fun activity, with many groups within the temple participating. Please bring gloves if you have them, and definitely bring a mask, as we will be limiting the number of volunteers and practicing social distancing.
And we’ll need schach for the sukkah, too. Leafy branches, long bamboo cuttings, evergreens, corn stalks, etc. Items should be at least a few feet long to help make a leafy roof. Leave shach on the side of the patio by the large social hall.
