Our next film discussion session will focus on three films: “The Accountant of Auschwitz,” “Prosecuting Evil: The Extraordinary World of Ben Ferencz,” and “Watchers of the Sky.”
The first film is about Oskar Groning, who went on trial for his role in the complicity of the murder of 300,000 Jews at Auschwitz in 1944. The second film is about Ben Ferencz, who is the last surviving prosecutor from the Nuremberg trial; he is still alive and he is 102. “Watchers of the Sky” is about Raphael Lemkin, the man who coined the word genocide, and his battle to get it recognized as a crime by the United Nations.
Ed Malberg and Bob Krovetz will lead the discussion. RSVP to Bob Krovetz for the Zoom link.
If possible, view the films in advance. The films can be rented on Amazon; and the last one is also available from the Somerset library system.
