The Renaissance Group invites you to join us in celebrating Chanukah with The Word Mavens!
December 13, 7:00 p.m.
Joyce Eisenberg and Ellen Scolnic are The Word Mavens, the authors of the “Dictionary of Jewish Words” and the “The Whole Spiel.” Their hour long presentation is both humorous and informative. This shtick (comic routine) on food is new and different from the one they did for our Sisterhood in 2021, to the delight of all.
On Food: From dill in your chicken soup to whether a cinnamon raisin bagel is legitimate.
On History: Why our ancestors were eating whole grain bread before it was trendy.
On Jewish Geography: The “gefilte fish line.”
This event is open to the entire temple community. All are welcome to enjoy some laughs with The Word Mavens and have some time to chat with temple friends. Join us on December 13 at 7:00 p.m.
