Four Sessions with Rotating Clergy: Tuesday, September 2, 9, 16, & 30; 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.
Rabbi Diamondstein and Cantor Wallach want you to feel your most prepared for the holiest days of our calendar. In this four-part series, learners will explore everything from how we prepare for the Days of Awe to the meaning of atonement for this time and for each of us through the lens of our rich and evocative High Holy Days’ music and liturgy. Session 1 – Tuesday, September 2 at 7:30 p.m. with Rabbi Diamondstein
Elul: Learn about our month of cheshbon hanefesh, accounting of our souls, and how it readies us for the High Holy Days.
Session 2 – Tuesday, September 9 at 7:30 p.m. with Cantor Wallach
Songs of Awe: Learn how to sing some of the most often-used melodies of the High Holy Day season. Reconnect with the heart of this unique and sacred music, and the ways it helps us facilitate our own teshuvah (atonement).
Session 3 – Tuesday, September 16 at 7:30 p.m. with Rabbi Diamondstein
Rosh Hashanah: Learn about our powerful new year chag and its many names, each of which convey a critical aspect of Rosh Hashanah.
Session 4 – Tuesday, September 30 at 7:30 p.m. with Rabbi Diamondstein
Yom Kippur: Learn about our holiest day, known in rabbinic tradition as “Yoma,” “THE Day,” and its many services and traditions.
