As part of RAC-NJ’s (NJ Religious Action Center for Reform Judaism) Immigration Campaign, members of our temple have been advocating for the state legislature to pass the Immigrant Trust Act (ITA). This bill will ensure that local resources are used to support local priorities rather than fund federal immigration enforcement, preserve access to school, health care and employment for all, protect the privacy of personal information, and enhance trust and safety within our communities.

This act strongly relates to our Jewish values of welcoming the stranger and seeing all people as B’Tzelem Elohim, in the image of God.

On Tuesday, June 3, at 11:00 a.m., members of our congregation and other RAC NJ constituents will meet with Legislative District 16’s Assemblyman Roy Freiman and Assemblywoman Mitchelle Drulis at their office in Hillsborough. (This event was previously scheduled for May 30 and rescheduled to June 3.)
