Join us in watching and discussing our next film, “Like a Fish Out of Water,” a romantic comedy about a new immigrant from Argentina and his relationship with his Hebrew teacher.
Marcelo is a non-religious young man, an actor and a single parent to his eleven years old daughter, Lucy. He’s desperately looking for someone to help him improve his Hebrew accent so that he can win a role on an Israeli soap opera. Anat, his religious teacher, is probably the best solution, but it seems that she hates soap operas, and is not so fund of her pupil either. Besides, Anat has her own problems, mainly her mother Bruria: an energetic, pushy lady frantically seeking a perfect match for her daughter who has already passed the proper age to marry.
We will be watching the film in the library on Saturday, October 29 at 8:00 p.m. This will be followed by a Zoom discussion at 9:00 p.m. If you cannot attend in person, you can watch the film via Amazon and then join the discussion afterwards.
Please RSVP to Bob Krovetz if you can attend the showing in the library, and if you can attend only the Zoom discussion.
The Zoom can be accessed here.
