As part of our year-long celebration honoring Rabbi Arnie Gluck, Rabbi Shira Gluck will join us for Erev Shabbat services as a guest speaker. We’re also blessed to have MK Rabbi Gilad Kariv with us and he will also share a few remarks.

Rabbi Shira Gluck is associate rabbi and director of congregational learning at Temple Sinai in Summit, New Jersey. Rabbi Gluck is a deeply engaged Reform Zionist: she served as an ARZENU delegate to the most recent World Zionist Congress in 2023 and as an ARZA rabbinic intern and clergy fellow. Rabbi Gluck also served as a Hartman iEngage rabbinic fellow and a Leffell Israel fellow, and was a participant in the Hartman Institute’s Rabbinic Students Seminar and Rabbinic Torah Seminar.

Rabbi Gluck previously served Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Congregation Emanu-El of New York City, Stephen Wise Free Synagogue, and the New Jewish Home of Manhattan. Rabbi Gluck received her B.A. from Oberlin College, where she studied art history and Classics. She received her M.A. in Hebrew Literature and rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.

Rabbi Gilad Kariv is a member of the Israeli Knesset, a Reform Rabbi and an attorney. He is a strong proponent of the vision of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state with full equality for all of Israel’s citizens and for the recognition of Reform Judaism in Israel.

Previously, Rabbi Kariv served as the executive director of the Israel Movement for Reform and Progressive Judaism and director of the Israel Religious Action Center. He was ordained as a Reform rabbi at the Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem and served in the Israel Defense Forces Intelligence Corps.
