Rachel Frish, Director of Youth Engagement

Rachel Frish oversees Temple Beth-El’s informal youth programming, including the Young Family Initiative, junior youth group, and SMOOCHY (our high school youth group). She also teaches in our Hebrew School and Confirmation Academy.

During the summer, Rachel serves as a Unit Head at URJ 6 Points Sci-Tech Academy-East, in Massachusetts.

Rachel grew up in Dallas, where she attended Temple Shalom and was active in the city’s Reform Jewish community. She spent her summers at Jewish day camps, first as a camper, then as a counselor. At the University of Kansas, Rachel interned with the campus Hillel and spent a summer in Washington, D.C., interning with the Religious Action Center.

Rachel lives in Somerville and is the proud parent of many plants and a hedgehog named Leo.

If you have questions about our youth programs—or what it takes to raise a hedgehog—you can reach Rachel at 908-722-0674, ext. 319 or via email.
